Interview with Shan after his initiation mentorship program in 2020.

A short film that Shan received as a memory.

MENTOR CONTINUED

To feel and understand the power of initiation, the men who go for Mentor go through the same process as the young people as much as possible. Initiations here are 'tailor-made' and the capabilities and limitations of e.g. age and health*. (So standing under a cold waterfall is optional :-)

Unlike an initiation to Young Man or Man, the initiation to Initiation Mentor has an extra layer. This layer contains extra background information about the how and why. The tricks of the trade, so to speak. Consideration is also given to how to put mentorship into practice at home.

In order to review all themes and practical experience as effectively as possible, a minimum of four weeks is desirable. The longer, the better. A Mentor initiation can, if appropriate and/or necessary, be completed in parts.

Can every man go for the Mentor program?

In theory yes, but apparently not in practice. It's actually not so much about physical age as it is about emotional age. A young man of 23 years may be more suited to mentoring a young person than a man of half a century. The ability to transcend ego and helicopter view is necessary. As a role model, some agility within the playing fields of Communication, Respect, Responsibility and Trust is self-evident. Of course, there must also be time available to spend with young people.

An intake interview is arranged in advance by appointment via video calling. Here we can get acquainted and express each other's expectations.

Because there are no 30* working hours need to be submitted for exchange, the price is negotiable. Target price approx. €15 per day excluding food. (Do your own shopping and cooking for a budget of 20 euros per week.)

The overnight stays are preferably in your own tent or camper, but it is allowedaccommodation can also be rented.
